Firefighters from Glastonbury were among five crews who have been tackling a barn fire in Aller this morning (October 27).

At around 2.45am, crews from Somerton, Bridgwater, Glastonbury, Martock, and Street were called to a barn fire in Aller.

On arrival crews stated the barn was well alight. Crews dampened down the surrounding areas to prevent any escalation.

The attendance at this incident has now been scaled back to a two pump watching brief.

The A372 had been closed between Langport and Aller while the fire crews tackled the blaze, but it has now reopened.
