The Glastonbury Festival organisers have donated medical supplies, that were due to be used at the 2020 event, to the emergency services and NHS.

Father and daughter team Michael and Emily Eavis have donated thousands of litres of hand sanitiser, gloves and facemasks that were going to be used at the event which was cancelled due to the coronavirus crisis (report here).

They are being donated to the NHS and frontline emergency staff via the Avon and Somerset Local Resilience Forum, which is a multi-agency partnership of different organisations including the emergency services, health services, Maritime and Coastal Agency, Environment Agency, voluntary agencies, utility companies, transport providers and local councils.

The forum aims to plan and prepare for emergencies, deliver an effective and efficient response to an emergency, support and enable communities, and prepare for and increase resilience to emergencies.

Due to star at the Worthy Farm event in Pilton this year were Kendrick Lamar, Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift and Diana Ross.
