Care staff in Glastonbury are celebrating after scooping two awards at an annual Company Awards lunch.

Candlelight Care runs the 'Candlelight Care Outstanding Achievement Awards' programme for its staff, with nominations made by colleagues and clients.

The awards lunch took place at Wincanton Racecourse recently, and staff based at the Glastonbury branch in King Street won two of the six awards on offer.

The winners were Stephanie Webb (Care Professional) and Christoff Van De Merwe (Specialist in Care).

They were two of ten finalists from the branch, the others being Donna Crook (Best Newcomer), Stephanie Williams (Care Professional), Tara Davies (Unsung Hero), Sarah Perry (Specialist in Care), Regan Williams (Senior Care Professional), Kirsty Hayes (Senior Care Professional), Jane Palmer (Dignity in Care) and Joanne Massey (Dignity in Care).

Eight staff from the area were also honoured for their long service, between them supporting vulnerable people in Glastonbury and the surrounding area for over 90 years.

James Catley-Day, Managing Director of Candlelight Care, said:"We were delighted to gather once again to celebrate the remarkable achievements and extraordinary dedication of special individuals within the Candlelight Care family. We thank every one of them for their service, and would also like to extend our thanks to Rupert Cox for hosting the Awards again so magnificently."
