Glastonbury Town Council has announced that there will be no formal Glastonbury Beltane gathering taking place in the town on Saturday, May 1.

While Glastonbury is open to visitors, the council respectfully asks the public to please remember that wider social contact rules continue to apply – including the Rule of Six or two households.

Gatherings of more than 30 people remain illegal until the planned removal of all legal limits on social contact on June 21.

The Glastonbury annual town meeting will be taking place next week, but it will happen virtually via Zoom.

It will be held on Tuesday May 4 at 7pm, the Zoom log-in is 338 427 2622 and the password is 748963.

All interested persons are invited to attend and may participate during question time.

Reports will be presented to the mayor, town, district and county councillors, and these will include:

  • Citizens Advice Mendip
  • Glastonbury Conservation Society
  • Glastonbury Bridging the Gap Foodbank
  • Glastonbury Coronavirus Community Support Network
  • Glastonbury Cricket Club

Reports from other organisations within Glastonbury are welcome.

Further details can be obtained from the town council reception (9am-4pm) – telephone number (01458) 831769, email: [email protected].
