The Somerset Council has issued a reminder for Glastonbury residents about the change in waste collection schedules due to the May bank holidays.

The changes will take place during the weeks of Monday, 6 May, and Monday, 27 May.

During these periods, the collection of recycling, refuse, and garden waste will be postponed by one day from the normal schedule.

This means that if your collection is due on a Monday, it will instead occur on Tuesday, and so forth for the rest of the week.

Furthermore, collections that are usually scheduled for Friday, 10 May, and Friday, 31 May, will be conducted on Saturday, 11 May, and Saturday, 1 June, respectively.

Residents can assist the waste collection process by compressing and flattening their waste, which facilitates easier collection and transport.

All local recycling centres will continue to operate their regular weekend hours, and will be open from 9am to 6pm on the bank holiday Mondays.

For details on what can be recycled and more, visit www.somerset.gov.uk/recycling-collections.
