Glastonbury residents are being invited to apply for allotment plots at Lowerside, opposite Forsey's Funeral Directors, with a number of spaces currently available through Glastonbury Town Council.

The Lowerside allotments are open to Glastonbury residents who want to grow their own fruit, vegetables and herbs in a dedicated outdoor space.

The council manages the site and its Allotment Officer regularly checks the plots, as well as the surrounding area, to make sure they are being properly maintained.

Allotment holders are contacted if their plot becomes overgrown or is no longer being kept in line with the Allotment Agreement.

The council says renting an allotment can give residents the chance to grow fresh produce, get outdoor exercise, enjoy fresh air and meet other local gardeners.

Plots are suitable for all experience levels, including people who may not have enough garden space at home.

Anyone interested in enquiring about a plot at Lowerside Allotments should contact Sarah Hallam at [email protected].
