Glastonbury Abbey is offering residents of Mendip a discounted local visitor ticket, giving them access to the historical monument and spiritual site in 36 acres of grounds.
The ticket is available until the end of July 2020 and entitles the bearer to five visits for £15 (adults) or £7.50 (children) until December 31 2020.
The abbey is offering this ticket specifically for those local people who would like to visit the abbey during this time of limited movement and aren't sure whether a full membership is for them. A single day ticket is also available for local residents.
The abbey will be open from Wednesday to Sunday 10am to 4pm with last entry at 3.15pm. These are temporary opening hours while the site builds up to being able to welcome greater numbers of visitors and those from further afield when the guidance permits.
A spokesperson for the abbey said: "For people who haven't experienced the abbey before, it is a beautiful space in which to walk, walk your dog, picnic with your family or find a quiet spot for reflection.
"When visiting the abbey, signs and staff guidance indicate our social distancing measures and one way system for your safety."
