Glastonbury Abbey has earned itself a trio of prestigious nominations in the National Outdoor Events Association's 20th annual awards.

The ceremony is set to take place at the Roman Baths and Pump Rooms on 22 November.

The abbey's events team has been named as a finalist for the Event Organiser of the Year (Private Sector) award. This comes on the heels of a hugely successful year for the venue.

Glastonbury Abbey Medieval Fayre has also bagged a nomination for the Event of the Year (Private Sector) award. The 2023 Medieval Fayre was the biggest to date, boasting a joust, a medieval market, living history talks, and demonstrations. The event was a hit, attracting over 8,000 visitors. It's also in the running for Event of the Year at the Bristol, Bath & Somerset Tourism Awards.

The abbey's Night at the Abbey event is another feather in its cap, nominated for Small Event of the Year. Local legends Reef headlined the August 2023 edition of this annual spectacle and saw more than 2,000 attendees.

Brad Lister, Glastonbury Abbey's Head of Commercial Activity, said: "The events programme has increased in quality and popularity year on year and attracts an additional 30,000+ visitors to Glastonbury Abbey. It is an honour to be shortlisted at the National Outdoor Events Association in 2023 alongside such high-quality national event organisers and teams."

Good news for Glastonbury: both the Medieval Fayre and Night at the Abbey will be returning in 2024. Tickets for the Glastonbury Abbey Medieval Fayre are available for purchase on the abbey's website.
