Turning the Page: Glastonbury's The Comic Store is set to move into Boots once the pharmacy closes

The Comic Storw has announced it will be moving into the soon-to-be-vacant Boots Pharmacy premises on December 1st.

This relocation marks a notable development in a town where independent retailers are the norm, and national chains are few and far between.

The closure of the Boots branch in Glastonbury, set for 13th October, is part of the pharmacy chain's plan to close 300 shops across the UK. This particular closure is more significant for Glastonbury, as Boots is one of the few national chains in a town known for its independent retailers.

In a Facebook post Paul Chambers, the owner of The Comic Store, confirmed that he would be making the move from the current shop at Abbey Mews, across the road and into the Boots store, opening on December 1st.

The owner of The Comic Store shared heartfelt gratitude to landlords, friends, family, and loyal customers for their support over the last eight years, and particularly the last three challenging ones. "2024 is going to be amazing," he added. "Thank you to all."
