The former Blackdown Motor Company site in Walton, near Street, has been put on the market with an asking price of £925,000.

The 1.29-acre site is being marketed by Cooper and Tanner of Glastonbury.

The Main Street property, which includes more than 10,000 square feet of internal accommodation, has been in the same family ownership for generations. The site became vacant after the Blackdown Motor Company abruptly closed in December last year, leaving staff redundant just before Christmas.

The listing highlights the site's potential for redevelopment, suggesting it could be transformed into residential housing or repurposed for other commercial uses. Pictures of the property show an empty showroom with consultation booths still in place, reflecting its previous use.

Cooper and Tanner's description notes: "Offering scope for a wider range of alternative uses or potentially residential or commercial redevelopment opportunities."

The sale presents a significant opportunity for investors or developers to reimagine the future of this prominent site in Walton.
