Firefighters tackled a chimney fire at a property in Meare last night (March 17).

Just before 8.30pm, one fire engine from Street was mobilised to reports of a fire within a chimney at a property in Stileway, Meare.

Crews got to work investigating the property using a thermal imaging camera and used chimney gear to attack the fire from the hearth.

At 10pm crews confirmed the fire was out. Duty of care was left with the occupier.
