Amanda Montague looks at a new way of recycling - Ecobricks.

After a trip to my local supermarket, despite trying to avoid as much plastic as I could, I was still shocked at the amount I was unpacking from my food.

Therefore I decided to look into ecobricking - there's a local collection point at The Red Brick Building, Glastonbury.

An ecobrick is a plastic bottle packed with plastic to a set density to create a reusable building block.

Ecobricks are used to make modular furniture, garden spaces and full-scale buildings such as schools and houses.

However, there's more to it than just chucking it in, the plastic needs to be clean and dry, and the bottle must be a certain weight.
