Residents and businesses in Glastonbury are being offered solar panels at a special discount rate, thanks to an initiative from the town council and a local company.

Sunlit Solar, supported by Glastonbury Town Council, are offering a 10 panel 3.7kW system from £4,000.

Solar panels offer clean renewable energy, lower bills and reduce carbon emissions, and Sunlit Solar will donate £50 for every installation towards local community projects.

Mayor of Glastonbury, Jon Cousins said: "Reducing the cost of installing solar panels through this initiative is a 'win-win' situation – residents benefit by saving money and the renewable energy generated will help Glastonbury move towards our target of net-zero carbon by 2030.

"It is a genuine step towards resilience at a time of climate emergency."
