Dates announced for 2020 Glastonbury Abbey Medieval Fayre

The dates for the award-winning Glastonbury Abbey Medieval Fayre next year have been announced.

Glastonbury Abbey Medieval Fayre will be held across the weekend of April 18 and 19 2020.

Winner of the silver award in the Tourism Event of the Year category at the recent Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards for 2019, the Glastonbury Abbey Medieval Fayre promises to be bigger and better in 2020.

The fayre opens from 10am to 5pm each day and your ticket includes access to the abbey ruins as well as the medieval fayre.

There are loads of activities for children, re-enactments throughout the day, living history camps, medieval jousts and battles, and food and drink to suit all tastes.

New in 2020 is the weekend ticket, so if you would like to take a more relaxed approach to the fayre and take it in across two days you can buy a weekend ticket and come and go as you please across both days.

Discounted advance tickets are priced at - Adult: £12 (full weekend: £18), Child: £7 (full weekend: £10.50), Concession: £10 (full weekend: £15), Abbey Member: £6 (full weekend: £9), Family: £32 (full weekend: £48).

Tickets on the gate will be priced at - Adult: £15 (full weekend: £22.50), Child: £10 (full weekend: £20), Concession: £13 (full weekend: £19.50), Abbey Member: £9 (full weekend: £13.50), Family: £40 (full weekend: £60).

Discounted advance tickets for Saturday April 18 will go off sale at 6pm on the 17th. Advance tickets for Sunday April 19 will go off sale at 6pm on the 18th.

Activities and shows each day include jousting shows, falconry by Raptorcare Falconry, jester shows, a Viking battle, a medieval battle, a medieval themed market, medieval music throughout the day, tavern/beer tent, a Tournament of Champions, have a go archery, have a go axe throwing, have a go crossbows, knights school, face painting, the chance to have a go at some medieval crafts, a children's quest, a medieval encampment and a Vikings encampment.
