Costume Roadshow heads to Pilton

By Tim Lethaby 16th Jul 2021

One of Somerset's most colourful businesses is holding a sale in Pilton next week – to help clear out some of its selection of 30,000 costumes.

The week-long event is part of its summer-sale roadshow around the county.

Bath Theatrical Costume Hire, which last year celebrated its 50th anniversary, has collected a fabulous array of costumes over the last half-a-century. Many of which have been used in theatre, film and TV productions.

Managing Director, Rusette Auton, said: "Don't worry, we're not closing – as some of our customers thought when we announced we were having a sale.

We're just having a 'car boot' with a huge variety of colourful outfits ready to be picked up.

Despite the cancellation of most events, theatre shows and parties this year, there is no reason why you still can't dress up at home with your friends and family. Now is your chance to hold that themed garden party or dinner event you've always wanted to host!"

The Bath Theatrical Grand Sale is simple. You buy a bag, at £5, £10 or £20 and whatever you can fit in you take home.

The Grand Sale will be held on Monday 20th July – Friday 24th July (11am – 3pm each day) at The Old Coash House, Bowermead Lane, Pilton, Somerset, BA4 4DS
