A number of Glastonbury residents are raising concerns about the amount of people in the town not wearing masks or following social distancing.
The worries have increased after two flyers were recently put through letterboxes in Glastonbury, which encourage people to actively not wear masks.
One resident told Glastonbury Nub News he was concerned that these flyers would worry his elderly neighbours.
There have been several cases reported of both shop owners and members of the public in Glastonbury receiving abuse because they were following the guidelines,
Resident Fiona Kirton said: "I was extremely upset to receive a flyer through my door encouraging people not to wear masks and follow guidelines.
"The content of this flyer is at total odds with peer reviewed scientific research on Covid.
"As someone who has lost my father to Covid and is part of a support group of more than 2,000 families bereaved by Covid, I know how traumatic these deaths are.
"For these individuals to spread propaganda trying to deliberately increase the risk of other families suffering such devastation is unforgivable.
"I have been in this area since the 1980s and have been an active member of the community. The conspiracy theorists who have become prominent of late are adding nothing to the community and do not represent the majority in Glastonbury.
"Not only are they putting the vulnerable at risk, they will deter tourists and this will have a serious impact on the town's economy.
"Covid-19 will be around for some time and as vulnerable people like myself now cannot walk safely in our own streets, I have made the decision to move. It's no longer home for me."
Another resident, who asked not to be named, said: "After 33 years living in Glastonbury I'm thinking of moving and I know others who are thinking likewise.
"The town centre was horrible this summer, crammed with people who didn't practise distancing and hardly ever wore masks - I know people working in the High Street who have to deal with anti-maskers practically every day. People have even been bullied for selling masks in their shops.
"I left my Glastonbury hairdresser, who 'allowed freedom' over mask wearing, and found a salon in Street which is run safely.
"I'm an older person with a history of respiratory illness, and what infuriates me most is the fake pity and the claims that poor old souls like me are being imprisoned by lockdowns, from the very people who make me wary of going out and who are making a lockdown more likely.
"I know about ten people who now routinely avoid the High Street but there must be many more.
"We are now attracting visitors who don't bother to take care because 'it's cool in Glastonbury'. If this continues, our town will become a Covid hot spot."
