The Mendip Business Awards welcomes entries from all kinds of organisations, including community enterprises and apprenticeship employers from Glastonbury.

If you are a community interest company (CIC), social or not-for-profit enterprise making a difference in Mendip, you can enter the Community Enterprise of the Year category of the Mendip Business Awards.

The award recognises the work that these organisations do for the Mendip community and how their dedication has a positive impact on the people living in the district.

If you've invested in talented people through an apprenticeship scheme and would like to thank your star apprentice for their hard work and dedication to your businesses, you can enter them in the Mendip Business Awards to become Apprentice of the Year.

Kevin Mitchell from Knight's Fish Restaurant said about his apprentice, Emily Leigh, winning Apprentice of the Year in 2019: "Winning Apprentice of the Year was a great experience for our business and for Emily personally, boosting her confidence and self-esteem.

"I would recommend any business with an apprentice to enter."

Darren Brazil, regional director of housing at Aster Group, said: "We are proud to be sponsoring the Community Enterprise of the Year category once again at the Mendip Business Awards, after seeing the team from Yeast Scrapstore take home the award in 2019.

"It's important to us that we recognise the fantastic initiatives being run by local people across the communities we work in, and this award shines a light on these people.

"We would like to encourage anyone who is active in their community and is making a positive difference on other people's lives to think about entering this category. Good luck to all the entrants."

Businesses have until noon on Friday March 27 to enter the 2020 awards. The awards ceremony will take place at the Bath and West Showground, near Shepton Mallet, on Wednesday May 27.
