College's Musical Production 'Grease' needs your help!

Following the devastating fire that destroyed the drama studio at Strode College on November 1, the college is calling on the community to ensure that the show goes on.

Noone was hurt in the fire, but it destroyed everything in its wake including a set, props, costumes, electrical equipment, music equipment, and weeks of hard work making and building things for their production of 'Grease' which will be performed at Strode Theatre in February.

Now the college is desperately trying to source these items to ensure the production can go ahead as planned:

  • Plywood stock 
  • Planks of wood 
  • Large canvas sheets – used to make staging flats 
  • White/shimmery material 
  • 6 large stage flats 
  • A trolley on wheels  
  • Large chair with wheels  
  • 2 x 6 steps wooden staircase
  • 4 x 3 steps wooden staircase 
  • Metal piping 
  • Metal scaffolding poles and joints 
  • Large bar 
  • 3 x bamboo blinds
  • Roll of white material 
  • Wooden door in a doorframe 
  • 4 x wooden benches (6 seaters) 
  • Wooden throne 
  • 2 x side boards 
  • 2 x small side telephone tables 
  • Folding wooden table 
  • 16 x bistro chairs (black metal and wicker) 
  • 6 x small circular bistro tables 
  • Slated single bed base 
  • Single bed mattress 
  • Wooden picnic table (seats 6 people) 
  • Wooden chest 
  • 2 x large black stage curtains 
  • Large green rug 
  • A collection of fake pot plants
  • Several plastic containers/buckets 
  • Wheelchair 
  • Cheerleading pom poms (red and white) 
  • Glitterball 
  • 1 x roll of light pink satin material  
  • 1 x roll of hot pink satin material 
  • 2 x roll of silver material
  • Car parts including 6 x silver hub caps, 4 x wheel arches, 4 x tires, fluffy dice, a bag of engine parts  
  • Bag of large white feathers 
  • 5 x mens leather jackets 
  • 5 x pink Ladies jackets
  • A mix of colourful 50s prom dresses 
  • 6 x 50s sports jackets 
  • 10 x 50s mens suits and shirts 
  • 4 x 50s style satin night dresses/pyjamas and dressing gowns 
  • 50s style sports kit (red and white) 
  • 8 x cheerleader outfits (red and white) 
  • Mirror – AO size
  • Dressing table lights – big bulbs  
  • Small 1930s dressing table and stool with cushion  
  • Large pink rug  
  • Standing lamp with large shade  
  • Wooden bookcase  
  • 50s film/music posters 
  • 50s male 'pin-up' posters  
  • Steamer trunk  
  • Large festival wings (fold up and pop out)  
  • 1920s radio  
  • 1920s telephone 
  • 1930s typewriter
