Clarks Village in Street is gearing up for a festive season to remember as it prepares to host the World's Biggest Santa Skate, aiming to break a world record for the greatest number of Santas on ice. The event will kick off the opening of the shopping outlet's festive ice rink on Thursday, 14 November.

The exciting free event will see over 150 Santas taking to the ice simultaneously, with the first session running from 5pm to 7pm. Guests are encouraged to dress as Santa Claus to be part of the fun, with free tickets on offer to everyone who participates in costume. Skate hire is included in the ticket, which can be claimed on the Clarks Village website.

The head elves at Clarks Village are pulling out all the stops for the festive ice rink's return this year, with the world record attempt taking place between 6pm and 6:30pm, joined by none other than Santa Claus himself, who will be making a special appearance from the North Pole.

Everyone who joins the World's Biggest Santa Skate will receive a participation rosette, and special certificates will be awarded for outstanding fancy dress.

Chris Davis, Centre Director of Clarks Village, said: "The festive ice rink at Clarks Village has proved to be enormously popular and, for its third year, we wanted a grand celebration to welcome its return.

"The World's Biggest Santa Skate will be a sight to behold and such a fun experience. We're delighted to offer guests free tickets to join us at this exciting launch event by dressing up as Santa and being part of a memorable evening, which might even make the history books."

The ice rink, featuring 550 square metres of real ice, will be open daily from 14 November until 5 January, excluding Christmas Day. Located next to the Alfred Gillett Trust, the rink is wheelchair friendly and offers a range of sessions including disco skating, parent and toddler sessions, quiet sessions, and private hire for parties.
