An engine from Glastonbury was called to a chimney fire in Lower Godney yesterday (January 11).

Fire Control received a call just before 8pm reporting a chimney fire in Lower Godney yesterday, and a fire engine from Glastonbury was quickly mobilised and soon arrived on scene.

Upon arrival, fire crews confirmed a chimney was well alight within an open fire inside a domestic property and got to work using chimney gear and a hose reel jet.

Crews also requested the attendance of a further fire engine for an additional thermal imaging camera. The crews successfully extinguished the blaze.
