The Afternoon Tea

An intergenerational experience was enjoyed by all last week, when 35 guests of Candlelight Community attended a concert and afternoon tea at King's School, Bruton.

The annual event combines the culinary skills of the school's BTEC Hospitality pupils with the talents of its musicians to give nearly 100 local older people an afternoon to remember, and Candlelight Community was delighted to be involved. Candlelight Community is an initiative organised by Candlelight Care, which provides older people with opportunities to engage with others in the area and thereby reduce loneliness and isolation.

Cherry Catley-Day, Proprietor of Candlelight Care, said, "We are grateful to the pupils and staff at King's School, Bruton for once again hosting a delightful afternoon. The music was wonderful and the tea was delicious, our guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to their next outing."

Candlelight Care is a family-run Company offering homecare and live-in care services in Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire and East Sussex. With a Head Office in Glastonbury, Somerset, it has been caring for people of all ages in their own homes for over 35 years and its services are rated 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission.
