Work begins at Avalon Plastics site in Glastonbury

By Guest 16th Jul 2021

These are challenging times for everyone but the show must go on for Melhuish and Saunders, principal building contractors as planned works have started this week at the Avalon Plastics factory in Glastonbury.

The site team are getting offices and welfare facilities in place and the diggers already moving in to prepare the ground for the construction phase to begin.

Melhuish and Saunders has a new site manager, Mark Miles, who joined the company this week and is a welcome asset to the team. He is getting everything moving on to meet the client's requirements.

The project is to extend the front of the existing facility to allow for greater capacity, thereby enhancing business operations.

The development has been designed by Chris Donoghue of Wootton Donoghue Architects, based in the Red Brick Building, Glastonbury.

A spokesperson said: "Melhuish and Saunders are very happy to be working with these successful local businesses."
