Armed police respond to reported attack in Glastonbury as man arrested

A significant emergency services response was launched in Glastonbury this evening (Sunday, October 13) following reports of an attack in the Beckery area of the town.

Police, ambulance crews, and an air ambulance were seen at the scene, with residents reporting a large police presence, including sightings of armed officers. The air ambulance landed near Tor Leisure as part of the response.

The incident began after officers were called to Beckery Old Road at around 5.30pm, following reports of an altercation between a group of men.

Specialist firearms units and the National Police Air Service helicopter were dispatched to assist local officers at the scene.

Three men were taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

A man has since been arrested on suspicion of affray in connection with the altercation.

The situation has generated a lot of speculation on social media, but further details from emergency services have yet to be confirmed.
