Acclaimed singer-songwriter Lavinia Blackwall will perform in Glastonbury to support charity
Folk rock singer Lavinia Blackwall, with her band Stilton, will be playing a gig in support of Glastonbury charity Children's World at the Red Brick Building in the town on April 16.
Lavinia's recent successful single Troublemakers was included by Radio 6's Marc Riley on his Best of 2019 list.
In this special addition to her UK tour, the Glasgow-based performer, previously of the group Trembling Bells, will be performing solo material described as "a mixture of wistful longing, joyful exuberance, wheeling psychedelia and classic song writing".
Opening up the evening will be young local singer-songwriter, and MC, Amber Chapman, who has been featured on Glastonbury FM and recently travelled to India to teach music in a school in Kolkata.
Lavinia spoke about how her experience as a primary school teacher led to her supporting the charity.
"I am supporting Children's World, because they enable children to experience fun, educational activities, whatever their needs and promote inclusivity for all," she said.
"There should be more provision for this type of thing in mainstream education. As a teacher in a primary school I am aware of the growing amount of children with additional support needs and learning difficulties. A more play based approach is essential in enabling all children to access education."
Tickets are priced at £8 in advance and £10 on the door and are available via the red button below.
