Drivers using the A361 between Glastonbury and Shepton Mallet will face disruption from this weekend due to essential works at Whitstone Hill.

The closures will begin on Sunday, 5 January 2025, with the National Grid carrying out pole replacement and tree cutting along an 840-metre stretch between the junctions with Top Street and Bowermead Lane. The works will continue for five consecutive Sundays.

Road closures will be in place from 7:00am to 6:00pm each affected Sunday, with the road remaining open at all other times. During the closures, traffic will be diverted via the A371 through Wells.

The National Grid has advised motorists to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys. For more information, contact National Grid on 0176 140 5123, quoting reference number ttro946597E.
