Motorists in Glastonbury are being strongly advised to avoid the A361 in the town as a second closure of the road is in place this morning (August 6).

An emergency road closure has been put in place in Coursing Batch as a dangerous tree branch is obstructing the carriageway.

A tree surgeon will be required to remove the branch and the road is expected to be closed until early this afternoon.

The closure happens at the same time that the A361 Bere Lane is closed for resurfacing and drainage work.
