A riotous rainbow: Glastonbury Pride, viking invasions and a classic car tour colour this weekend in Street and Glastonbury

With an array of colourful festivals, concerts, film screenings, and a classic car tour, residents and visitors alike will find something to fill this weekend in Street and Glastonbury.
The main event is undoubtedly Glastonbury Pride, which kicks off on Sunday, 23rd July, with a bustling schedule that starts at 10 am with a pre-event Brunch at FARA Glastonbury.
It's all systems go from noon with the GFM radio 'Pride Takeover!' at The Market Cross. The stage will be graced with a variety of local talent, including Earthquake Samba Band, Glastonbury Border Morris, Faux BoJo as 'The Pride Minister', and many more. Attendees can also look forward to a fundraiser raffle for Mindline Trans+ and 2BU Somerset.
At the same time, those with a penchant for the past can immerse themselves in a Viking Invasion at the Avalon Archaeology Centre. This Festival of Archaeology promises costumed re-enactors, demonstrations of ancient crafts, and the chance to strike a Viking coin or dress up as a Viking for a longhall selfie.
Car enthusiasts are not left out, with the David Warren Classic Car Tour making its way through the scenic roads of Glastonbury. This year's route covers a beautiful 65-mile stretch, starting from the Abbey Tea Rooms and culminating at Batch Country House in Lympsham.
Moreover, film aficionados have a treat in store, with a Pride special screening at the King Arthur as part of the Viva Vada Queer Film event, and Strode Theatre hosting showings of 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny' and 'Frozen Jr.' presented by The South West School of Dance.
Further highlighting the diversity of events on offer, the Flame of Magdalene offers a concert and rose cacao ceremony at St Margaret's Chapel in the evening. Attendees can look forward to sacred songs and chants, and indulge in the divine taste of rose cacao.
Those seeking a family-friendly weekend of live music, art and hemp education can head to the Hemp Redemption Summer Festival at Avalon Priory in Chilton Polden. Starting from Friday, 21st July, the festival promises a host of activities ranging from live music, educational talks, children's area, and a host of hemp-related attractions.
And finally, fans of world music can look forward to an evening of free entertainment on Saturday, 22nd July, with Theo Mizú & os Guaribas performing at The King Arthur in Glastonbury.
