A 48-year-old man has been named as the victim of a car fire on the outskirts of Glastonbury last week.

Senior Somerset coroner Tony Williams has confirmed that he has opened an inquest into the death of Jason Rowland Carombayenin following the fire on May 14.

Mr Williams said: "I confirm that yesterday I opened an inquest into the death of Jason Royland Carombayenin of Queens Road, Street, date of birth August 28 1971, date of death May 14 2020 at Back River Drove, Glastonbury.

"A post mortem was conducted with cause of death presently unascertained pending further tests being performed.

"The brief details as presently known to me are that Jason Carombayenin was found in a burning car, was removed from the car but was confirmed dead at the scene.

"Further statements and reports are being obtained with investigations ongoing and I have noted the file for an internal Case Management Review on or before August 20 2020."
