Firefighters from Glastonbury were among multiple crews who tackled a workshop blaze in Lydford-on-Fosse yesterday (June 5).

Just after 5.30pm yesterday, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service control received a call reporting a vehicle inside a workshop on fire in Lydford-on-Fosse.

Fire engines from Castle Cary, Somerton, Glastonbury, Yeovil, and the aerial ladder platform Yeovil, were quickly mobilised to the incident.

On arrival, crews confirmed a workshop well alight. Additional crews then came from Shepton Mallet, Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea, and Street.

The fire was extinguished using 12 breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, a safety jet and a thermal imaging camera.

One person was treated on scene for smoke inhalation. The premises was destroyed by fire and the cause is believed to be accidental.
