Plans submitted to build six houses at the foot of Glastonbury Tor

A planning application has been submitted to Mendip District Council to build six houses at the foot of Glastonbury Tor.

The application for the development of six detached dwellings with associated vehicular accesses and landscaping on land at Ashwell Lane, Glastonbury, has been made by S J Field Ltd.

The plot for the proposed houses is on the south side of Ashwell Lane and sits outside, though adjacent to, the development limits of Glastonbury, as set out in the Local Plan.

Other planning applications in the Glastonbury area that have been submitted this week to Mendip District Council include:

Proposed garage conversion and one additional parking space at 5 Higher Actis, Glastonbury, is wanted by Mr Hayward.

Erection of 2m privacy screen on balcony and 3m privacy screen on patio at 12 Ashwell Lane, Glastonbury, has been applied for by Mr Adam Worgan.

Demolish existing storage building and replace with new store and first floor annex, provide additional off road parking spaces at Butleigh Post Office, High Street, Butleigh, is wanted by Mr and Mrs P Harwood.

Planning applications in the Glastonbury area that have been decided this week by Mendip District Council include:

Application for approval of reserved matters following outline approval 2016/2701/OTS for the erection of 14 dwellings and associated access, matters of appearance/landscaping/layout/scale to be determined on a site east of Toy Farm, Castle Cary Road, Lydford-on-Fosse, by Mr and Mrs S Barnes has been approved.

Application for approval of details reserved by conditions 4 (ventilation system), on planning consent 2018/2640/FUL at The Village Store, Church Lane, Baltonsborough, by Mrs Naomi Giaretta has been approved.

First floor extension over existing kitchen/bathroom at Cold Harbour Cottage, Back River Drove, Sharpham, by Mr and Mrs Blinman has been approved.

Erection of single storey rear extension at 1 Gilberts Corner, Burnetts Lane, Baltonsborough, by Mr and Mrs Swayne has been approved.
