A man had to be rescued after falling from scaffolding in Glastonbury this afternoon (November 23).

Just after 1.15pm, a fire appliance from Glastonbury was requested to attend by the ambulance service to assist with rescuing a male casualty from a roof after a fall from scaffolding in Bere Lane in the town.

The ambulance hazardous area response team was in attendance, and crews worked with safety-at-heights equipment to support the rescue of the casualty.

The aerial ladder platform from Yeovil was also mobilised as a precaution, but not required in the end.

Duty of care was left with the ambulance service, and the condition of the male casualty was not known at the time of writing.
