Horse Rescue at Burtle Road, Burtle

Date: 19.10.2019Time: 10:01Location: Burtle Road, Burtle, BridgwaterOne fire appliance from Glastonbury and the Special Rescue Team from Bridgwater attended a horse which had been stuck in a water filled ditch for 8 hours. On arrival, crews confirmed the owner was there with the horse and a vet had been contacted.

Once the special rescue team were on scene, crews donned water safety kit to attempt a rescue. Animal rescue equipment including strops were used, and crews assisted the horse from the ditch. The horse was left in the safe care of the vet and the owner.
