Firefighters from Glastonbury were among three crews who worked together to cut a person free from a car following a crash in Lydford-on-Fosse yesterday evening (March 3).

Just after 6pm, crews from Somerton, Castle Cary and Glastonbury attended what they described as a "challenging" road traffic collision on the A37 at Lydford-on-Fosse.

Crews carried out a full roof removal and dashboard lift to release one trapped person by using hydraulic cutting gear.

A fire service spokesperson said: "A simultaneous full plan and emergency plan worked well to assist with paramedics on scene."
