There are new events being organised all the time in Glastonbury, and there are others that have been running for years.
A number of these events in the Glastonbury area are being added to our recently revamped What’s On section.
Our top event pick for this week is Tor Fair, which takes place at Herbies Field in Glastonbury.
This week, Tor Fair will be held at its new location in Herbies Field. It is understood that Tor Fair is the second longest continually running fair in the country, having not missed for 824 years.
Henry Chipperfield is the main organiser of the fair and his family have been involved since 1946.
Glastonbury Town Council says it would like to acknowledge the support residents and businesses in and around St John's car park have given over the past two years, when this temporary location of the fair was used. This allowed the continuity of the fair through what proved to be a very difficult time.
The event takes place from today (September 13) to Saturday (September 18), and for more information, visit the Facebook page here.
You can list your events - e.g. shows, films, sports fixtures, quiz nights, local markets, steak nights at the local pub, jazz choir rehearsals, or anything else - on our What’s On page FREE of charge, just click this link and then click the black Nub It button.
