The district council has issued £27 million to more than 2,200 eligible local businesses in a bid to get Mendip moving again after a 10-week lockdown.

The council continues to receive and process Business Grant forms, giving local organisations the finance and opportunity to reopen after the coronavirus emergency.

But there may be businesses out there who are eligible for the Government funding who have yet to submit their details online. If this is you, or someone you know, please act now.

Business Grants are not loans – firms will not be asked to pay this funding back. And forms are easy to navigate.

Where to get help:

  • Register here: www.mendip.gov.uk/businessrates
  • Got an application already in the system that you wish to chase up? Email [email protected]
  • Businesses that receive small business rate relief with a rateable value of up to £15,000 will receive a grant of £10,000.
  • Businesses in the retail, hospitality, and leisure sectors with a rateable value of under £15,000 will receive a grant of £10,000 per property
  • Businesses in the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors with a rateable value of between £15,001 and £51,000 will receive a grant of £25,000 per property
  • These are grants, not loans. You will not be asked to pay this money back.
