Firefighters from Glastonbury helped to rescue a woman after a two-vehicle crash in Pedwell this afternoon (August 3).

At around 1pm, two fire engines and one heavy rescue vehicle from Street and Glastonbury fire stations attended a road traffic collision involving two vehicles at the junction of the A361 and Pedwell Hill.

One female was extricated by using hydraulic cutting equipment to remove the roof of one of the vehicles.

The female casualty was conveyed to hospital by ambulance.

Both roads were closed while the emergency services dealt with the incident, though they have now reopened.
